The first Icelandic credit market
Aktiva loan market connects borrowers and lenders.
This morning, Aktiva opened an online loan platform intending to connect borrowers and lenders. The lending platform is based on so-called peer-to-peer lending, but such platforms are known worldwide, according to relatives.
A press release from the company says, “The process at Aktiva is entirely transparent, and those who apply for a loan must consent for their credit rating at Creditinfo to be checked. The better the credit rating, the better the interest rate on the loan, and the pricing is fairer than previously known in credit matters in this country. To begin with, it will be possible to get a loan from ISK. 100,000 and up to ISK. 500,000, but the amount that can be borrowed depends on the applicant’s credit rating. It is quick and straightforward for borrowers to see how much of a loan they can get on www.aktiva.is, and they need an electronic ID on a mobile phone.
With Aktiva, lenders provide loans to borrowers and return the money with interest, thereby removing banks as intermediaries. Aktiva’s role is to manage the loan market, where borrowers’ applications are made, and lenders decide which loans they are interested in financing.
Aktiva is owned by Móberg ehf. Other companies owned by Móberg ehf. are Netgíró and Vergo. The CEO of Aktiva is Andri Úlfarsson and the CEO of Móberg is Skorri Rafn Rafnsson.
