Jónas and Birgir to Alva Capital

The investment company Alva Capital has hired two experienced managers, Jónas Heiðar Birgisson and Birgir Guðmundsson. Jónas has been appointed Chief Financial and Operating Officer, and Birgir has been hired as Project Manager for hotel projects.
Jónas Heiðar brings extensive experience in finance and operations and most recently served as CFO at the aquaculture company Arnarlax, where he played an active role in the company’s development from 2017. Prior to that, Jónas worked in the finance department at Norðurál. He completed a business degree from Bifröst University in 2005.
Birgir Guðmundsson has long-standing experience in the tourism industry and most recently worked as General Manager at Hilton Nordica from 2022 to 2025. Before that, he served as General Manager at the Icelandair Hotels, Reykjavík Natura (2021–2022) and Reykjavík Marina (2014–2022). Prior to that, Birgir held the position of General Manager at Kvosin Downtown Hotel from 2013 to 2014. Birgir completed a BA degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Washington in 2003.
