Móberg sells Heimkaup.is
The buyers of Heimkaup are Guðmundur Magnason and other investors.
Móberg ehf. has decided to sell Heimkaup.is from its operations. The buyers are Guðmundur Magnason and other investors, who acquired the company through their purchase of Magna utúði ehf., the owner of Heimkaup.is, Skífun, and Gamestation.
Móberg CEO Skorri Rafn Rafnsson says the sale relates to the company’s vision. “Móberg plans to focus on other areas, including Bland.is, which is the most popular marketplace in the country, Netgíró ehf., the technology and design company WEDO ehf. and Mói Internet ehf. who owns 433.is, Sport.is, Hún.is and other websites,” says Skorri Rafn.
The new owner of Heimkaup is Guðmundur Magnason, manager at Latabæ. He has been the Sony Center, Office One, and BT manager since 2005. “I have considerable experience in traditional retail operations, but I have great faith in the potential of online shopping in Iceland. Our goal is to continue the development of Heimkaup. It is a leader in this field in this country. Customers appreciate the convenience that comes with this way of shopping, and the opportunities are great,” says Guðmundur.
Heimkaup.is has over 10,000 product numbers from around 650 brands and was founded over a year ago.
